Plague doctor hat made from full grain vegetable tanned cowhide. There is a spring steel wire sewn into the edge of the brim to help hold its shape. The crown has been wet-formed over a custom built hat block, and flares out at the top. It has been coated with a stiffener to keep its shape, however it should not be worn in the rain as it can lose its shape if it gets wet. The hat comes with a soft leather sweatband and on the inside top is a portrayal of the Fürst engraving. It is painted black with flexible acrylic latex paint. The hat comes with a removable, adjustable chin strap. This hat is identical to the ones worn by the Swedish band Ghost.

The Medium/Large size should fit most adults. We’ve made it rather large as it is to be worn over a mask, a balaclava or hood, and perhaps a cowl. Inside circumference of crown measures 24″. If your head circumference is larger than about 23 ½” we offer the hat in XL size, where the circumference of crown measures 25½”.
