Are plague doctors evil?
Short answer: NO.
We see in the media many people wondering if the plague doctors were evil or bad. So we want to clarify it definitively. This may be due to their terrifying masks and outfits, but they were doctors! Doctors who offered support to people with the Black Death and helped cities fight this pandemic, usually hired by the governments of each city.
So, the plague doctors were not evil, but heroes who put their lives at risk to help others during the Black Death pandemic, just like today’s doctors who are putting their lives at risk during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the difference that now the surgical masks are friendlier and less terrifying than the plague masks 😜
For this reason, our small business started with the idea of paying tribute to all the plague doctors who helped fight the Black Death in centuries past.
